Indian Men’s Hockey Team climbs to fifth spot

India clinched their second consecutive bronze medal, defeating Spain in a hard-fought match. Their stellar performance during the Paris Olympics propelled them up the rankings.

India was in the 7th spot following the conclusion of the FIH Pro League as they didn’t have a great campaign. However, India showed great form during the Paris Olympics, where they lost just 2 matches and won 5 matches. This would help them climb to 5th spot with 2848.67 points and above Australia. The Netherlands, who secured gold in Paris, continue to dominate the rankings with 3168.01 points.

Germany, the silver medalists, occupy second place with 3035.28 points, while England and Tokyo gold medalists Belgium follow closely in third and fourth positions, respectively.

The Indian women’s hockey team, despite missing the chance to play in Paris, currently holds the ninth spot. The Netherlands leads the women’s rankings after their gold-winning performance in Paris.
