In a recent interview with Optus Sport, Jamshedpur FC’s Tim Cahill announced that he would no longer play club football, thereby announcing his retirement without even getting a proper farewell match. The 39-year-old played last for the Red Miners against FC Goa which ended in a 0-0 stalemate.

“No, I am an old man now in football years. I would love to keep playing, you know 39, had a great stint for six months in India. But I’m interested in TV, going to start my A-Licence and spend quality time with my family and chill out for a bit. It was amazing to play in four big continents. I had a great career and I’m really thankful,” said the Socceroos legend.

East Bengal News: Board officials stand firm with other I-League clubs over boycotting Super Cup

East Bengal board officials along with representatives of their investors Quess held a meeting where they decided that the Red and Gold Brigade would stand firm with the other I-League clubs’ unison of boycotting the Super Cup.

“The Board of QEBFC met today and discussed about the participation in the Super Cup Tournament. The East Bengal Nominees on the Board suggested that since an alliance of Clubs have already been formed, it would be unethical for us to come out of the Alliance,” read the club statement.

Moreover, they even informed the media that they would bid for the ISL only if it is feasible. As it stands, only Real Kashmir FC and Indian Arrows have confirmed their participation. Mohun Bagan, on the other hand, are the only I-League side who have not yet registered their squad.

Jamshedpur FC: Club signs AFC U-16 Championship star goalkeeper Niraj Kumar

Jamshedpur FC has bolstered their squad by signing AFC U-16 Championship star goalkeeper Niraj Kumar for the upcoming season.
