India outclassed Thailand in every department as they obliterated them 4-1 at the Al Nahyan Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Sunil Chhetri broke the deadlock after calmly netting in his spot kick. Thailand responded within six minutes as their captain Teerasil Dangda headed in the ball towards the back of the net.
However, once the second half resumed, India showed no mercy. Sunil Chhetri restored the lead within 60 seconds and, Anirudh Thapa and Jeje Lalpekhlua piled further misery to the disorganized Thailand side.

Mohun Bagan coach, Shankarlal Chakraborty, made his intention clear to step down as the head coach of the century-old club owing to the side’s poor performance. This was Mohun Bagan’s fourth loss in seven matches which has dented the club’s title aspirations immensely.
However, he mentioned in the post-match press conference following the loss to Real Kashmir that he would continue as the head coach of Mohun Bagan if the management fails to find a replacement before their next match against Minerva Punjab on 9th of January.
