The Men’s Doubles World No.2 faced the World Champions Kang-Seo of South Korea in the Semi Final of Malaysian Open 2024, which produced a high intense aggressive battle between these two top seeds, with fabulous rallies and intelligent gameplay. Satwik-Chirag won the game(21-18, 22-20), which also involved an unbelievable finish in the second game.
Satwik-Chirag who dominated their previous game in the Quarter Final had to sweat this time against the World Champions. But they overcame the challenge with a magnificent display of skills and team work.
The Indian Superstars made an ultimate comeback in the second game avoiding 8 game points for the opponents and eventually securing a match point. Satwik-Chirag will play the Malaysian Open Final for the first time on 14 January.

Satwik-Chirag reach their first Malaysian Open Final
Satwik-Chirag who won 5 gold medals last year, including Asian Games and Asian Championships, have reached another final in the new season.
The Indian duo took the first game with 21-18 against the World Champions. The South Korea pair also gave a fierce fight after an initial trial. But the Indian top seed hold on well to keep up the lead and ultimately win opening game.
In the second game, the World Champions were on top with quick points, putting the pressure on the opponents. When it was a game point opportunity for the South Koreans at 20-14, Satwik-Chirag produced an inspiring finish, avoiding the game point and also scoring 8 straight points to secure a win.
