West Indies women struggled to get runs as the Indian spinners kept them under check. Anuja was the first to strike in the third over after dismissing Mathews.

It all went downhill for the hosts as the wickets kept tumbling. The situation changed from sad to sorry in a flash as the batting side could only muster 59/9 in their 20 overs.

Despite the small target, the Indian side were off to a wobbly start with both the in-form openers Shefali Verma and Smriti Mandhana inside the pavilion pretty early.

Harmanpreet Kaur too was unable to contribute much after being dismissed for just 7. Jemimah Rodriguez played a patient knock of 40 off 51 deliveries to steer India home with 7 wickets to spare.

This marks India’s second T20 series on the trot after easing past the Proteas at home earlier this year.

Brief scores: West Indies 59/9 in 20 overs (Chinelle Henry 11; Radha Yadav 2-6, Deepti Sharma 2-12) lost to India 60/3 in 16.4 overs (Jemimah Rodrigues 40 not out; Hayley Matthews 2-7) by 7 wickets.
