Following the conclusion of the one-sided three-match T20I series, India is set to host New Zealand for two-match Test Series starting from Thursday, November 25. The first Test match is set to take place at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur.
India:
India swept off New Zealand with an emphatic 3-0 whitewash in the series of the shortest format of the game. Now, the Men in Blue would certainly be eyeing to avenge the defeat of the World Test Championship (WTC) final against the Kiwis.
An injury blow of KL Rahul is a major one. The team will also miss the services of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as they have been rested with an eye on their workload in recent times.
Ajinkya Rahane will be leading the side in Kohli’s absence and with Rahul now missing, Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara will have to take a lot of responsibility. The likes of Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami have been rested as well. Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav are expected to be the first-choice pacers. The spin department is well taken care of as Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Ravindra Jadeja are all available for selection.
New Zealand:
Kane Williamson will take charge of the team and make his return in the Test series after taking a break from the T20Is. Pacer Trent Boult would not be available for selection, but the pace bowling department is taken care of with Kyle Jamieson, Tim Southee, and Neil Wagner.
Eyes will be set on spinners Ajaz Patel, Rachin Ravindra, and Mitchell Santner for their performance in the series as the heavy workload will fall on their shoulders looking at how Indian pitches deteriorate as the Test progresses.

Our Prediction:
India will be brimming with confidence after the dominating performance in the limited overs cricket. However, the Blackcaps would be eyeing to repeat their display in the WTC Final against India. A thrilling contest is expected in the opening game, but the Men in Blue are likely to get the better of the Kiwis.
Prediction: India to win the match
