All-rounder Hardik Pandya had an instrumental role in India’s 7-wicket victory over England in the 3rd T20I. Pandya managed to pick his best figures of 4-38 and scored a quickfire 33 with the bat to reach the total comfortably.
It was not all smooth sailing for the Mumbai Indians star initially, as he leaked 22 runs in his very first over. The all-rounder revealed that it was Kohli’s words of wisdom that helped him get the spell on track. He said:
“When I went for 22 in an over I thought the T20 is a funny format and the only thing to do was to come back and bowl my best balls. Virat Kohli (captain) asked me and I told him I was okay – if you come and take wickets on this type of wicket and ground it will stop the runs. I just had to make sure I kept it simple.”
Pandya also went on to say that the squad is in a learning groove and is upbeat about their chances in the ODI Series. He added:
“We are just enjoying the game rather than thinking about what has got to happen. We are just playing our best cricket and when you do that you end up doing well.”
