The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has announced that India will host the World Junior Badminton Championships 2025. The prestigious event will take place at the National Centre of Excellence in Guwahati. This marks the first time since 2008 that India will host this significant BWF event.
The National Centre of Excellence in Guwahati, managed by the Badminton Association of India (BAI), is a state-of-the-art facility. It is expected to provide an ideal arena for the world’s next generation of badminton talent to compete for both team and individual glory.
BWF President is overjoyed to host the World Junior Badminton Championships in India
Hosting the World Junior Badminton Championships is a significant achievement for India. BWF President Poul-Erik Høyer expressed his enthusiasm about bringing the World Juniors to India for the second time. He acknowledged India’s booming production line of elite badminton talent and the significance of hosting the event in the country.
“India’s production line of elite badminton talent is booming, and it is of great significance for the BWF to bring our World Juniors to India for just the second time,” Poul-Erik Høyer said.
“BAI’s brand new National Centre of Excellence is a state-of-the-art facility for badminton and will be the perfect arena for our next-generation talent to battle it out for team and individual glory.”
India last hosted the World Junior Championships in 2008 in Pune. The upcoming 2025 event in Guwahati will provide a platform for young Indian shuttlers to showcase their talent on home soil.
