India is set to host the upcoming edition of the men’s Asia Cup cricket tournament in the T20 format in 2025, as announced by the Asian Cricket Council in their Invitation for Expression of Interest (IEOI).

Asia Cup 2025 in India

India will host the 2025 Asia Cup in the T20 format. This edition serves as a precursor to the T20 World Cup scheduled in India in 2026. The tournament will feature six teams: India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and one additional team determined via a qualifier. A total of 13 matches will be played during this edition.

2027 Edition (ODI Format):

Bangladesh will host the 2027 Asia Cup in the ODI format. This aligns with the 50-over World Cup scheduled to take place in South Africa in the same year. Like the T20 Asia Cup, this edition will also comprise 13 matches.

The Asia Cup has been used as a dress rehearsal for global events, playing in the format corresponding to the upcoming World Cup.

India, the defending champions, have won three of the last four editions of the tournament, including the 50-overs edition held in Colombo last year.

These tournaments provide an exciting platform for cricket fans across Asia, showcasing top talent and fostering regional rivalries. As India and Bangladesh prepare to host these prestigious events, cricket enthusiasts eagerly await thrilling matches and memorable moments on the field.
