India have announced their 15 man squad and three reserve players for the upcoming World T20 Cup in UAE. As expected, Virat Kohli will lead the side and Rohit Sharma will be his deputy. Mahendra Singh Dhoni will travel with the side as a mentor.

India have selected only three front-line pacers in Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Mohammed Shami. The selectors have selected five spinners as R Ashwin has made a comeback in the side.

Surprisingly Yuzi Chahal has missed out on the selection. Selectors have gone with young spinner Rahul Chahar instead. Also, mystery spinner Varun Chakravarti has made the cut. The other spinners that have been selected are Ravi Jadeja and Axar Patel.

Unfortunately, the leading run-scorer of IPL 2021 Shikhar Dhawan has also missed out. Youngster Ishan Kishan has edged past the southpaw. Suryakumar Yadav has retained his spot in the squad after a wonderful show in Sri Lanka. Kl Rahul and Rishabh Pant have also been named to the squad. Hardik Pandya will play the role of fast bowling all-rounder for the team.

Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer, Shardul Thakur, and Deepak Chahar have been selected as the reserve players.

Squad: Virat Kohli (Capt), Rohit Sharma (vc), KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wk), Ishan Kishan (wk), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Rahul Chahar, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Varun Chakravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohd Shami.
