Ind vs WI 3rd T20I Review: Kohli-Pant stand trumps Pollard’s fifty to complete clean sweep

India’s first assignment after the World Cup ended on a sweet note as the Men In Blue ruthlessly swept away the Windies 3-0 in the T20 series. Krunal Pandya was declared as the man of the series for this consistent performances.

After playing the first two matches in Florida, the teams switched their attention to Guyana. Team India named three changes to their line-up with Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, and Khaleel Ahmed slotted out to make way for KL Rahul, Deepak Chahar, and Rahul Chahar.

It was a dream debut for the Chennai Super Kings’ pacer as he scalped away the out of form Windies top order. Chahar was able to move the ball both ways which was more than the batsmen could handle.

Despite the early collapse, Kieron Pollard rescued the Caribbeans out of trouble with his first fifty in this format since 2012. The spinners were targetted including the debutant Rahul Chahar. With some late over antics, the West Indies were able to post 146 on the board.

Shikhar Dhawan’s uneventful return prolonged as he dismissed early. KL Rahul followed suit soon after which got Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant into the crease. With the required rate slowly creeping up, the duo picked their shots and rotated the strike to keep it in check.

Both of the men brought up their fifties to help India chase down the total with five balls to go. The two teams will now face eath other in a three-match ODI series.
