The squad also includes all-rounder Krunal Pandya, who had plenty of fruitful outings in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare trophy. Pandya will be joined by Washington Sundar as the all-rounder spinners in the side.

Manish Pandey, Mayank Agarwal, Sanju Samson, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami were the members from the last 50-over squad that did not make the cut.

While Ravindra Jadeja is still healing from his thumb injury, Jasprit Bumrah had asked for time off for his wedding.

T Natarajan, who has been battling fitness issues following his test debut in Brisbane, has been deemed fit to make it into the ODI squad. While the left-arm seamer is currently in the T20 squad as well, he has been unable to feature in a game so far.

In the absence of spearhead Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami, the pace bowling load will be shared by the likes of the experienced Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammad Siraj, Shardul Thakur and T Natarajan along with newbie Prasidh Krishna.

Suryakumar Yadav’s inclusion promises stability to the Indian middle order as well with the current spots being managed by Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant.

Squad: Virat Kohli (captain), Rohit Sharma (vice-captain), Shikhar Dhawan, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), KL Rahul (wicket-keeper), Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Krunal Pandya, Washington Sundar, T Natarajan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Shardul Thakur.
