The visitors began the game on a good note which was gradually subdued as Afghanistan took control of the game. The hosts took the lead right before half-time when Zelfy Narzary dispatched the ball into the net with a deft finish.

In a bid to restore parity into the match, Igor Stimac brought in reinforcements in the forms  Farukh Choudhary, Manvir Singh, and Seiminlen Doungel. Veteran Sunil Chettri was awarded a couple of chances but could not find the back of the net.

The visitors in search of an equalizer were much more potent in the second half which ultimately resulted in the lat equalizer. The ball-in from Brandon Fernandes in the 93rd-minute corner was duly headed in by his FC Goa teammate Len Doungel.

As things stand, India are currently fourth on the table with 3 points from 4 matches with no wins to their names.
