After Sandesh Jhingan, Jeje Lalpekhlua, and Anas Edathodika, it was Sunil Chhetri’s turn to take part in a freewheeling chat session conducted by the All India Football Federation.
Unlike the center-back Anas, Sunil looked wary about China’s threats and believes that India will have an uphill task against the Red Dragons.

“I’m happy that we are playing a team like China. It’s strange that we are playing them after so long. We should have played them more often. I’m very excited because they are a quality opponent and they have always been a respected side in Asia. To face them at their home is going to be a tough challenge but this is a challenge that we should face now. Our form away from home hasn’t been particularly very good. This is a great opportunity for us to take a good account of ourselves,” the Bengaluru FC captain said.
India will take on China tomorrow in the picturesque Suzhou Olympic Sports Centre at 5:05 p.m. IST. The last time the two sides met, China got the better of India at the 1997 Nehru Cup with the final scoreline reading 2-1. Bhaichung Bhutia was the lone scorer for the Blue Tigers, and India couldn’t find an equalizer despite pressing hard for it. Read Sportsindiashow’s preview and predictions to know more about the game.
