The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, a state-of-the-art venue in New York, is all set to host the T20 World Cup 2024. This marks a significant milestone in the history of cricket, as it’s the first time a World Cup match will be held in the United States.

The stadium, which was unveiled on May 15, 2024, boasts a capacity of 34,000. It features infrastructure from the Las Vegas Formula 1 circuit and drop-in pitches prepared in Florida. This temporary stadium is considered to be the first of its kind in international cricket.
The Nassau County Stadium will host eight matches during the tournament. The most anticipated of these is the India vs Pakistan match scheduled for June 9. This high-stakes encounter is expected to draw a massive crowd, adding to the excitement and energy of the tournament.
The unveiling ceremony of the stadium was graced by Olympic legend and T20 World Cup 2024 Brand Ambassador, Usain Bolt. Other notable attendees included USA cricketers Corey Anderson, and Monak Patel, legendary West Indies fast bowler Sir Curtly Ambrose, and former cricketers Shoaib Malik (Pakistan), and Liam Plunkett (England).

Bolt expressed his excitement about the new stadium, stating, “The new stadium is going to be a fantastic place to watch from. It’s very enclosed and you feel very close to the action. I can imagine it will be full of energy when cricket fans get to Nassau County International Stadium next month.”
The first game to be hosted at the New York stadium will be between Sri Lanka and South Africa on June 3. However, the India vs Pakistan match is undoubtedly the most awaited clash.
