ICC says India vs Pakistan match in the world cup will go ahead as planned

On 14th February a cowardly suicide bombing attack on CRPF convoy in Pulwama led to Martyrdom of 42 jawans. The suicide bomber Adil Ahmed Dar, 20, rammed an SUV loaded with 350 kg of explosives.

Since that attack, There are protest filled in the different parts of India against Pakistan and the Indian government also withdrew most favourable nation status to Pakistan. In fact, many Indian companies have stopped doing business with Pakistan and have asked for a systematic boycott.

In fact, many people in India including cricketer Harbhajan Singh have called for a boycott of Pakistan during the ICC world cup 2019. However, according to ICC CEO Dave Richardson, there has been no indication that the world cup match will be cancelled.

Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by this terrible incident and we will be monitoring the situation with our Members,” Richardson is quoted as saying by PTI. “There is no indication that any (of the) matches at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup will not go ahead as planned.

Sport, in particular, cricket, has the wonderful ability to bring people together and unite communities and we will work with our Members on that basis,” he said.
