The ICC Cricket World Cup is right around the corner where the top 10 ODI teams will take on each other to claim the tag of World Champions. England will be hosting the other 9 teams for the event.

Former England Skipper Nasser Hussain has named six players across all the participating nations that he feels will set the tournament ablaze. Indian skipper Virat Kohli, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson, the Universe Boss Chris Gayle along with his teammate Andre Russell and in the bowling department he has put his money on Jasprip Bumrah and Rashid Khan.

In terms of the Indian players, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah are on top of their respective game, and Hussain expects both of them to shine in the tournament. Moreover, he also expects Chris Gayle to do something special in the tournament.

Ruling out West Indies and Afghanistan as contenders for moving ahead into the tournament will not be a smart move according to Hussain.

The hosts England along with the winners of the previous two editions, Australia and India are touted as the favourites going into the tournament.

With respect to England’s phenomenal current form, he stated:

‘England will go into the tournament knowing they have to be good throughout. Make sure you get the points in the bag. ‘They will get through to the knockout stages I think. But then it’s a one-off game and anyone can beat anyone. ‘England’s recent record is phenomenal though and they will be confident.’
