"Some player!!": Ian Bishop awestruck by India's latest batting sensation

Team India put up a huge total as they gave England a target of 225 runs to chase down in 20 overs. Virat Kohli came to open alongside Rohit Sharma and he starred with the bat as he scored an unbeaten 52-ball 80. Rohit too hammered a blistering fifty. Apart from them, Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav also performed well with the bat. While Suryakumar hit 32 runs off 17 balls and looked to score another fifty but eventually missed, former West Indies pace bowler Ian Bishop was impressed by his stunning batting show.

“Sky is some player,” Bishop said on Twitter. Bishop also added that he wants to see Virat Kohli open the innings more often for India as well. “I would love to see Kohli open more often especially when India bat first in T20I,” he further added.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli too revealed after the fifth T20I that he will open the innings for India more often prior to the ICC T20 World Cup which also included his game time for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the upcoming edition of the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) which is scheduled to begin next month.

“Tonight it was classic Rohit Sharma and if he plays more freely like that…Suryakumar and Hardik in the end – I enjoyed the partnerships. Yes, I’m going to open in the IPL as well,” said Kohli at the post-match presentation.

“We do have a solid middle-order now – it’s about the two best players getting maximum no of balls in T20 cricket. I’d like to partner Rohit at the top and the other guys feel confident when one of us is in. I’d like that to continue,” Kohli concluded.

However, both India and England will take on each other in a three-match One Day International series in Pune which will begin from March 23 as well.
