Shastri’s emotional reaction underscores the close bond he shares with Pant and the Indian cricket team. He stated, “I had tears in my eyes when I read about his accident,” pointing towards Pant. Pant’s accident in December 2022 was a significant setback, keeping him out of action until the IPL 2024. However, his dedication, passion, and commitment towards the sport led to a remarkable comeback. Pant’s performance against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup in New York turned out to be very crucial. He scored a valuable 42 off 31 balls and took three crucial catches, contributing significantly to India’s thrilling victory.
