The IPL 2019 final has also made a world record in live streaming numbers. A record 18.6 Million live concurrent viewers tuned in to watch the final on Hotstar which is a Disney owned Indian streaming giant.

Last year, the IPL set a record 10.3 Million viewers tuned in to watch the final of the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League. But this season, the 10 Million mark was breached in multiple games.
These streaming figures are extremely incredible for Star Network that paid a record $2.5 Billion for 5-year in TV-rights. According to Tech Crunch, Hotstar announced last month that they had amasses 300 Million active users in India.
The OTT platform had announced last month that within the three weeks of the league this year had garnered an impressive 267 million audience figure. IPL remains the most lucrative sports property in Asia.
