The 14th edition of Hockey World Cup is back in India and is all set to take place in Bhubaneshwar, Odhisa. The hockey world cup will start from today and will last till 16th December and will take place at the Kalinga Stadium. A total of 16 countries are participating in this event.

Team India is placed in Group C alongside Belgium, Canada and South Africa and the host nation will begin their match competing against South Africa on the first day of the tournament. Manpreet Singh will lead the Indian side in the tournament, while Chinglensana Singh will be the vice-captain. Harendra Singh has been named as the coach of the Indian hockey team.

The Indian Squad consists of the following players:

PR Sreejesh, Krishna Bahadur Pathak, Harmanpreet Singh, Birendra Lakra, Varun Kumar, Kothajit Singh Khadangbam, Surender Kumar, Amit Rohidas, Manpreet Singh (C), Chinglensana Singh Kangujam, Nilakanta Sharma, Hardik Singh, Sumit, Akashdeep Singh, Mandeep Singh, Dilpreet Singh, Lalit Kumar Upadhyay and Simranjeet Singh.
