The Indian domestic season has already started and heavyweights Mumbai haven’t done very well in any of the tournaments until now, they were outfoxed in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy.

A source in the Mumbai team, who was present on the occasion, said India’s limited overs vice captain “spoke to the Mumbai Ranji team on how to overcome the current situation” at the suburban BKC facility.

Rohit Sharma met the Mumbai Ranji team players after they suffered back-to-back losses in Ranji Trophy. They had started off on a positive note after they defeated Baroda in the first leg of Ranji Trophy.

They then faced Railways and heavy-weights Karnataka, they were humbled on both the occasions. Rohit Sharma who is rested for the T20 series against Sri Lanka comes to the Bandra-Kurla Complex for training and practice. It was also seen that the Indian limited overs vice captain spent an hour in the nets with the Mumbai Ranji Team boys .

The 41-times Ranji champions will now play against Tamil Nadu in an away game on 11th January and will try to win the game to help themselves get to a better position.

Captain Surya Kumar Yadav and Prithvi Shaw both wouldn’t participate in the game against Tamil Nadu as both the players will be the part of the India A team which will tour New Zealand.

In Ranji Trophy the standings of group A and B are combined and Mumbai are languishing at the 13th spot as of now, having won one game and lost two. Only five teams from combined A and B Group can make to the knockouts.
