UNICEF put out a tweet on their official handle to announce the same.

“Meet our Youth Ambassador, Hima Das! The Asian Games medallist is @UNICEF India’s first ever youth ambassador as part of #WorldChildrensDay celebration. #GoBlue,” was what UNICEF’s tweet said.

Hima Das was very proud of her appointment as the ambassador and pledged that she would inspire many more children to follow their dreams in the future.

“I’m honoured to be chosen as UNICEF India’s Youth Ambassador, and I hope I will be able to inspire more children to follow their dreams,” Das said.

Hima Das is currently on a winning spree after winning five medals in the last three weeks. Last of her medals came in the Nove Mesto Athletics Meet in Prague, when she clocked a timing of 52.09s to win the 400m.
