The 2024 edition of Desafio Ruta 40, a gruelling rally raid event, witnessed an impressive performance from the Hero MotoSports Team Rally riders. The team, comprising Ross Branch, Sebastian Buhler, and Nacho Cornejo, showcased their prowess in the penultimate stage of the rally.
Hero Motosports’ performance at Desafio Ruta 40
Ross Branch, the current leader of the World Championship, demonstrated consistent performance throughout the rally. He finished the fourth stage in 4th place, clocking 3 hours, 3 minutes, and 5 seconds. His performance was marked by a blend of speed and strategy, which kept him in a strong position for the final stage.
Sebastian Buhler, another key member of the team, also delivered a commendable performance. He completed the fourth stage in 7th place, with a time of 3 hours, 9 minutes, and 51 seconds. Earlier in the rally, Buhler had finished Stage 2 with an impressive 3rd-place finish. His performance throughout the rally was marked by his ability to navigate challenging terrains and maintain a steady pace.
Nacho Cornejo, the team’s latest recruit from Chile, finished the fourth stage in 9th place, clocking 3 hours, 23 minutes, and 8 seconds. Despite being new to the team, Cornejo showed significant progress in adapting to his new machine and finding his rhythm.

The fourth stage of the rally was particularly demanding, with competitors covering over 650 kilometres on the saddle. The route included 264 kilometres of road sections and 391 kilometres against the clock. Despite the challenging conditions, the Hero MotoSports Team Rally riders managed to deliver strong performances.
