Harshwardhan Tomar, 20-year-old basketball prospect and a student-athlete out of NBA Academy India has signed with KEBA Preparatory School in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States of America.

Hailing from the Bhind district in Madhya Pradesh, Tomar is the fifth NBA Academy India male student-athlete to join a US-based high-school or college basketball program.

Towering at 6 feet 7 inches, the forward follows the footsteps of Jagshaanbir Singh of the Golden State Prep, Point Park University, Pranav Prince of the First Love Christian Academy, Amaan Sandhu of First Love Christian Academy and Riyanshu Negi of the DME Sports Academy.

Tomar announced the signing with KEBA Preparatory School, which is a Christian basketball academy, in his official Instagram account on Sunday, and paid his gratitude towards his mother, as well as to the academy coaches.

“First of all I would like to thank my mom, as you’ve always worked harder than me for wherever I am or I’ll be. I am just so excited and blessed to get this great opportunity. So excited to announce that I have signed with @kebaprep school,” Tomar wrote in the caption of his post.

“Thanks to @nbaacademy coaches @scottwflemming @drillkiller @jvandescure @veganstrengthcoach @shivaraj_kumar13 @premkiddo for building me up every single day and getting me ready for this next step. Very thankful to @roopsingh_parhihar @roopsingh425 bhiya 🙏. Thanks to coach Kennedy for believing in me,” the youngster added.

Tomar, who has represented India at the U18 and U16 stage in FIBA Asia competitions, joined the academy at the Jaypee Greens Integrated Sports Complex in Delhi National Capital Region in 2018 after becoming one of the eight winners of the ACG-NBA Jump program in 2018.

The next year, Tomar earned the call up to be a part of fifth annual Basketball Without Borders (BWB) Global Camp along with fellow Indian basketball prospect Grishma Niranjan, which was hosted during the 2019 NBA All-Star Weekend in Charlotte.
