England’s Harry Brook has been crowned the new No. 1 batter in the latest ICC Test rankings, surpassing his teammate Joe Root. Brook achieved this milestone after scoring his eighth Test century against New Zealand in Wellington, accumulating 898 rating points, just one point ahead of Root. This remarkable performance has placed Brook among the top 34 highest-rated Test batters of all time, alongside cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar.

Meanwhile, Australia’s Travis Head has made a strong return to the top 10, jumping six spots to the fifth position following his match-winning century in the Adelaide Test against India. Head’s impressive innings of 140 runs from 141 balls played a crucial role in Australia’s 10-wicket victory. His performance has been a significant boost to his ranking and has placed him among the elite Test batters in the world.

Captain Rohit Sharma slipped out of the top 30, dropping five spots following his twin failures in the pink-ball Test.
