Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul are in hot waters after their appearance on late night talk show Koffee with Karan drew sharp criticism from cricket fans. They accused the duo of being Misogynist and sexist.
On the show, Pandya talked about hooking up with multiple women and When Karan Johar asked him why didn’t he ask women their name in a club, Pandya responded by saying, “I like to watch and observe how they (women) move. I’m little from the black side so I need to see how they move.”
For his remarks, Pandya and Rahul have been handed a ban from the BCCI and Pandya has even taken a bigger hit as he has lost a big sponsor in Gillette.
However, Pandya’s father Himanshu has defended his son’s comments.
“I don’t think people should read too much into his comments. It was an entertainment show and his comments were made in a light-hearted manner,” he said.
“He was only looking to entertain the audience. So, it (comments) should not be viewed very seriously or negatively. He is an innocent boy with a very fun- loving nature,” said Himanshu Pandya.
Hardik Pandya later apologised on Twitter and said that he got “carried away with the nature of the show“. But he is still under fire from cricket fans.
