Hardik Pandya has reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the ICC T20I all-rounder rankings after a stellar performance in India’s 3-1 series win over South Africa. This marks the second time Pandya has reached the top spot this year, having first achieved it following India’s triumph in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup earlier in 2024.

Hardik Pandya’s brilliance in the SA Series

• Batting Brilliance: Pandya played a crucial role with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 39 runs in the second T20I to stabilize India’s innings during a tricky phase. His contributions were instrumental in setting up competitive totals for the team.
• Economical Bowling: In the decisive fourth match, Pandya delivered an economical spell of 1/8 in three overs, which was pivotal in restricting South Africa to 148 in 18.2 overs. His bowling performance helped seal the series victory for India.
• Series Impact: Pandya’s all-round performance throughout the series was a key factor in India’s commanding win. His ability to contribute significantly with both bat and ball has solidified his position as one of the top all-rounders in T20 cricket.

Tilak Varma also made headlines during the series, scoring two centuries and amassing 280 runs across the matches. His remarkable performance saw him leap 69 spots to the third position in the T20I batting rankings, making him India’s highest-ranked batter.
