Gujarat Titans leg-spinner Rashid Khan recently shared his thoughts on Mumbai Indians ace batter, Suryakumar Yadav, who showcased a stellar performance on Friday, May 12 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. He scored his maiden century of his IPL career. He played an incredible knock of 103 off 49 balls with the help of 11 fours and six sixes to help MI post a massive score of 218/5 in the first innings.

After being asked to bat, MI openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan got their team off to a great start as they added 61 runs for the first wicket off 37 balls. Their partnership was broken by Rashid Khan who dismissed both Rohit (29 off 18) and Kishan (31 off 20) in the seventh over of the innings.

Suryakumar Yadav stitched a 65-run stand with Vishnu Vinod (30 off 20) off 42 balls for the fourth wicket. Mohit Sharma brought his side back into the game by breaking the partnership and getting Vinod out before he could hurt Titans more.

Following his dismissal, Suryakumar Yadav played one of the best knocks of his career and brought up his maiden IPL hundred scoring 103* off 49 balls smashing 11 fours and six sixes in his innings. MI posted a massive total of 218/5 on the board. It was Rashid Khan who returned with impressive bowling figures of 4/30 in his four-over spell.

Rashid said that he was unbelievable and it was difficult to bowl to him.

“SKY was unbelievable. It is hard to bowl to him and some of the shots he played were unbelievable. That’s how he plays in this format, and that’s what he’s known for,” said Rashid while speaking to the broadcasters during the innings break.

The hard hitter reached his half-century off 31 balls in the 17th over and shifted gears at the death. He was on 53* (34) at the start of the 18th over by Mohit Sharma and smacked him for 20 runs to move into the 70s.

He further scored 14 runs in the 19th over off Mohammed Shami and finally scored the first hundred of his IPL career with a maximum on the last ball of the innings. It has been noted that following his knock, he has climbed to the third spot in the list of leading run-scorers of the season with 479 runs to his name from 12 innings.
