The legendary Indian bowler Harbhajan Singh has a comical side, and it is well known to the cricketing fandom of the country. Be it on the pitch or social media, Bhajji is never weary of pulling jokes or trolls on his teammates. The spinner’s recent dupe is none other than Rohit Sharma, who’s exercise routine was just the topic Harbhajan needed to pull out a cheeky joke.
Earlier this month, Rohit Sharma suffered a calf injury in the final match of the T20 series against New Zealand. Taking the role of captaincy as Virat Kohli was benched, the blistering opener scored a stunning 41-ball-60, before sustaining the injury. He retired hurt as he was unable to continue batting, and was ruled out of the subsequent ODI series that took place.
Currently on recovery, the superstar is enjoying some time off the 22 yards, and is seen using the time to put to use in the gym. Yesterday, Sharma posted a video on his official Instagram, where he was seen deadlifting with a barbell with weights of 40 kgs. Check it out here-

While the fans were happy to see their idol batsman getting his recovery smoothly, Harbhajan decided to join in and leave a hikarious comment on the video, taking a light poke on the amount of weight Sharma was using.
Harbhajan commented: “Only 40 kg for this ?? Common shaana” implying it is lightweight and his former Mumbai Indians teammate needs to lift more.
However, Sharma replied promptly, stating that the reason behind using lightweight its the first time he has returned to gym after sustaining the injury. He wrote: “that’s because it’s my first day after injury with weights.”
While Sharma will miss out on the upcoming Test series against the Kiwis, but will look to return to the pitch before the 3 match ODI series against South Africa in March. However, the Mumbai Indians skipper will certainly be back in action in the 2020 Indian Premier League starting from 29th March.
The New Zealand Test series starts this Friday at the Basin Reserve cricket ground.
