AFC Ajax’s heroics in the Champions League haven’t gone unnoticed in Europe, and long before since have the big guns been courting the young stars of the Dutch side. While the youngsters are priced heftily, Hakim Ziyech could leave the Dutch capital for an absolute cut-price and Arsenal, Liverpool and United will be hoping to capitalize on this situation.
Hakim Ziyech, who arrived at the Johan Cruyff Arena from FC Twente back in 2016, has been pivotal in the club’s European as well as national and domestic success this term, as Ajax are through to the Champions League semis as well as top the Eredivisie with 77 points from 31 games played. We also named him as one of the Top 5 performers of last season.
While the Moroccan international has scored and assisted twice in nine Champions League games, his tally of 15 goals and 12 assists in 26 Eredivisie games speaks for the attacking midfielder’s calibre.
A clause in Ziyech’s deal with Ajax makes him available for a mere £25m in the summer and Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United among others, are keen on signing the 26-year old who plays as a winger too.
The Gunners seek a replacement for Juventus-bound midfielder Aaron Ramsey and feel Ziyech would be the perfect candidate due to his flexible playing and abilities, while Liverpool and Solskjaer’s side attempt at strengthening their midfield.
Ziyech was linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, who are eyeing a suitable replacement for Christian Eriksen, who is sure to leave the White Hart Lane side in the summer, although the club now claim that the Danish winger will be signing an extension in the coming weeks.
