India’s badminton player H.S. Prannoy clearly wasn’t happy after being left out from the list of Arjuna Award nominees for 2019. Only B. Sai Praneeth was nominated among the badminton players.

The 27-year-old lashed out after he was overlooked by the committee. He then tweeted out accusing the system and letting everyone know that performances were least considered in the country.

Interestingly, sources from the Badminton Association of India (BAI) has stated that Prannoy’s recommendation for the Arjuna Award had gone late to the Sports Ministry.

“His (Prannoy’s) recommendation for the Arjuna Award had gone late after the stipulated deadline,” a BAI source told PTI.

Prannoy had a memorable outing in 2018 winning a gold in the mixed team event in the Commonwealth Games before going on to secure a bronze in the men’s singles in the Asian Championships.
