Neeraj Chopra, the reigning Olympic champion and a beacon of hope for Indian athletics, has been training rigorously in Antalya, Turkey. After a successful stint in South Africa, Chopra shifted his training base to the Gloria Sports Arena in Turkey, preparing for the upcoming season.
Chopra was last seen in action at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, the People’s Republic of China, where he successfully defended his crown. The 26-year-old is yet to compete this season and is expected to return at the Doha or the Rabat leg of the 2024 Diamond League season in May. Later this year, Neeraj Chopra will have to defend his title at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Chopra’s training in Turkey is not just about physical conditioning; it’s a comprehensive regimen that includes technique refinement, strength building, and mental preparation. Working with his coach and biomechanics expert Dr Klaus Bartonietz and physio Ishaan Marwaha, Chopra is leaving no stone unturned in his quest for excellence.
One of the highlights of his training sessions was a ‘rocket throw’ during practice. The throw has left everyone in awe and fans shed their expectations of fetching another gold at the Olympics this year.
