After the successful Test and T20I series, Team India are ready to take on England in a three-match ODI series. For the ODI series, they have included a few new faces and Karnataka fast bowler Prasidh Krishna is one of them who earned his maiden call-up.
The pace bowler has played three seasons for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) and got in touch with the players like Pat Cummins, Lockie Ferguson, and a few as well. He was quite impressive in the recently-concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy where he claimed 14 wickets from six matches.
However, his bowling has impressed the former Australian fast bowler Glenn McGrath, who wished the youngster luck for his upcoming journey with the Indian team. He took to his Instagram and shared, “Congratulations Prasidh Krishna @skiddyy on being selected for India in the ODI’s against England. Well done mate & good luck #IndvEng #mrfpacefoundation #fbc.”
Earlier, Prasidh Krishna too shared his excitement after being called up to the national team. he took to Twitter and shared, “Feels surreal when you get the call to play for your country. It’s like a dream come true. Excited to play my part and contribute to the success of the team. Thanks, @BCCI. Can’t wait to get started.”

In nine first-class, 48 List A and 40 T20s, the pace bowler has claimed 34, 81 and 33 wickets respectively. He is currently in Pune for the upcoming three-match ODI series between India and England, beginning on Tuesday, March 23.
However, not only this but India captain Virat Kohli also praised Prasidh Krishna for his bowling last year in January 2020 when India was playing Sri Lanka in a T20I series as well.
“You’ll have to figure out who are the people that are very similar in their bowling skills, and you pick the senior one. I think one guy will be a surprise package. Someone who can bowl with pace and has bounce. Prasidh Krishna has done well in the domestic arena. It is a great luxury to have this group of bowlers in all formats. Looking at the World Cup, we have enough options,” Kohli shared.
