Gautam Gambhir and Shahid Afridi have never been the best of friends, both on and off the field. Right from 2007, when they were both booked for breaching the ICC code of conduct in an India vs Pakistan match in Kanpur, things haven’t been good.
In recent times, Afridi has been among the headlines, since he released his autobiography. First, it was about his views on Kashmir, then about revealing his age and now most recently, about the remarks he made on Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir.
According to what Afridi has written in his book, World Cup winning Indian opener has an attitude problem and lacked personality.
Some rivalries were personal, some professional. First the curious case of Gambhir. Oh, poor Gambhir. He and his attitude problem,” Afridi had written.
He has also added, “He (Gautam) who has no personality. He who is barely a character in the great scheme of cricket. He has no great records, just a lot of attitude. In Karachi, we call guys like him saryal (burnt up). It’s simple. I like happy, positive, people. Doesn’t matter if they are aggressive or competitive, but you have to be positive, Gambhir wasn’t.”
@SAfridiOfficial you are a hilarious man!!! Anyway, we are still granting visas to Pakistanis for medical tourism. I will personally take you to a psychiatrist.

Gautam Gambhir, who has now joined politics, had to react to this jibe from Afridi, and he did. He hit back at the former Pakistan skipper saying the former Pakistan cricketer is a hilarious man who needs a psychiatrist.
“Shahid Afridi you are a hilarious man!!! Anyway, we are still granting visas to Pakistanis for medical tourism. I will personally take you to a psychiatrist,” Gambhir had tweeted.
