Former Indian leg-spinner Amit Mishra has shed light on the resolution of the long-standing feud between Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli. Contrary to expectations, it was Gambhir who took the initiative to mend fences, rather than Kohli.

Amit Mishra reveals the IPL feud between Gambhir and Kohli

The feud between the two cricketers escalated during the IPL 2023 season, where Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) faced off. A heated argument ensued, involving not only Gambhir and Kohli but also Naveen-ul-Haq. All three were reprimanded for their behavior.

However, during the IPL 2024 season, things took a positive turn. In a heartwarming moment, Gambhir and Kohli hugged it out during the KKR vs. RCB game in Bengaluru. They were also seen having conversations ahead of the reverse fixture in Kolkata.

Speaking on YouTuber Shubhankar Mishra’s show, Amit Mishra revealed the surprising twist.

“I saw a good thing about Gautam. Virat Kohli didn’t go towards him, Gautam went towards him. He went and asked ‘How are you, how’s your family.’ So it was Gautam who ended the feud and not Kohli.”

“So Gautam showed his big heart at that time. It should have been Kohli who should have gone and ended the feud. He should have gone and said ‘Gauti bhai, let’s end this,'” said Amit Mishra.

Mishra’s observation highlights Gambhir’s magnanimity and willingness to bridge gaps. Now, as fate would have it, Kohli and Gambhir find themselves working together once again—this time as part of the Indian cricket team. Gambhir has been appointed as the new head coach, and their past differences seem to be behind them.
