Manchester United’s executive vice-chairman Edward Gareth Woodward has been targeted by fans to be the primary reason behind the club’s financial failure, and they have been creating petition and flooding tweets to sack their target accused.
The accusations date back to September 2018, when supporters had flown a plane along with a banner over Turf Moor stadium in Burnley, with the banner addressing Ed Woodward a ‘Specialist in Failure’.
After a series of alleged blunders, the supporters have concluded that since his appointment back in 2013, the 47 year old has been an absolute sucker in the transfer market, and has flooded Twitter with the hashtag #WoodwardOut.

Devils of United listed the club’s League table finishes after Woodward’s appointment, and why they too believe him to be the reason.
A fan petition was created at Change.org with the title ‘Sack Ed Woodward from his role as Executive Vice Chairman of Manchester United’, four months back by one Tom Kealy, suggesting the immediate sacking of Woodward.
The description reads the following: “Since his appointment in 2013, Ed Woodward has presided over an abysmal track record of failure in the transfer market.”
“His first window saw the farcical failure to bring Ander Herrera to the club and subsequent over payment for Marouane Fellaini, which demonstrated a clear lack of knowledge/ability.”
“The board need to sack Ed Woodward and install a qualified individual in his place with experience of the football transfer market.”
The petition has now gained pace and has already crossed 650 signatures. Check it out here.
