Former Manchester United head coach Sir Alex Ferguson took an indirect dig at his former club by praising Bayern Munich’s structuring process. The Scottish genius who helmed the Red Devils for 37 years made the remarks on the sidelines of Manchester United legends’ 5-0 victory over Bayern Munich at Old Trafford.
“They’re a great club. It’s a club run in the proper foundation of it.”
Manchester United will undergo a restructure in their club hierarchy. However, the upper management will not have a single person who played or managed the club in the past.
Sir Alex Ferguson believes that not having a single ex-player in their decision making body will hamper their future prospects. He took the example of Bayern Munich, which is run by former players, and their success record.
“Former players who run it really, Uli Hoeness and Karl-Heinze Rumenigge, they run the club in the right way and they are always winning the league in Germany. They’re a great club.”
Sir Alex Ferguson’s say in the day-to-day affairs of Manchester United slackened the day David Moyes got sacked. He anointed him but Moyes lasted only ten months. It is highly unlikely that the management will take up his suggestions.
