Stunning details of former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho’s sacking surfaced on Christmas, and according to the source, the club were absolutely “ruthless” towards the Portuguese manager at the then unforeseeable end of his two and a half year tenure with the Red Devils at Old Trafford.

Mourinho was sacked last Tuesday after an abysmal start to Manchester United’s campaign in over 28 years of the club’s history under him began with the commencement of the present season, after a one-on-one chat with club executive Ed Woodward in Carrington. Reportedly, a lot of people at the club including the staff were discontented enough with the manager, that they all wanted him out of the club as soon as possible.

Minutes after the news his sacking was known, which spread like wild fire, the staff at Carrington were at the ready to dispose of everything that Mourinho possessed and were already in his office for the same. According to the Sun his belongings were cleared out within five minutes of the decision. According to a source, the club were ruthless in the end and were already in there to clear things out.

“It took just 15 minutes to consign Jose to history. They dumped all his stuff into a white transit van. He spoke briefly to some of the support staff but spent most of his time in office on the day,” the source added.

Following his sacking, United have called upon former striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the interim manager, under whom, the club is already breathing a wave of fresh air. In Solskajer’s first outing at Cardiff last weekend, his team thumped the home side 5-1.
