Diego Maradona was in an ecstatic form the earlier day when Argentina beat Nigeria to qualify for the last 16 in the World Cup even when it was deemed tough for the Latin American nation to qualify.
He was reportedly seen being helped off his seat from the gallery and then he collapsed into a chair inside the stadium. The 57-year-old, who captained Argentina to World Cup victory in 1986, said his “neck hurt a lot”.
He was immediately attended by local paramedics and then transported to a local hospital. However, it is being reported that he was stabilised at the stadium even though he denied being taken to the hospital.
Maradona was seen celebrating ecstatically by showing his middle finger after Marcos Rojo’s right foot finish which won Argentina the match. Many pundits who were big names in their careers aren’t impressed with the antics of Maradona.
