Ashton Turner now has a record that neither any cricketer has achieved till date, nor would any cricketer want. In his last five T20 games, the Australian all-rounder has been dismissed for a duck.
The 26-year old Turner on Monday was dismissed for the third consecutive golden duck in the IPL, playing for Rajasthan against the Delhi Capitals.
The streak had begun on the 9th of February, when in the Big Bash league, Turner was dismissed without opening his account, playing for the Perth Scorchers against the Adelaide Strikers.
The right-hander then failed to score a run in the T20 match against India, in Vizag, in an inning that lasted for five balls.
And then, in the IPL, Turner has had a series of ducks. His third duck came against the DC, last night. The previous two incidents were against Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians. All three of these were golden ducks.
With this, Turner became the sixth batsman in IPL history to have 3 straight ducks. Ashok Dinda, Rahul Sharma, Gautam Gambhir, Pawan Negi, and Shardul Thakur are the other 5 batsmen to have recorded three consecutive ducks in the IPL.
