The second semi-final of the World Cup will see Croatia and England battle it out at Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow. The winner will face France at the final on Sunday, 15th July.
The teams have faced each other seven times in which England lead the overall head-to-head series with four wins to Croatia’s two, plus a 0-0 draw from their first meeting in April 1996.
Although they have never faced each other in the World Cup before, they have locked horns in the UEFA European Championship 2004, where the Three Lions emerged 4-2 victors in the group stage.
Croatia are in the semi-finals of a World Cup for the first time since 1998 and they are looking to advance to the final for the first time. They have been impressive in this tournament so far as they have gone five matches unbeaten, with three wins and two draws and scored in nine successive matches.
England have qualified for the semi-finals for the third time, doing so on European soil just as in 1966 and 1990.
The Three Lions will be looking to reclaim their lost glory once again by coming out as the victors in tonight’s match to get one step closer to the Cup.
