Argentina will look to seal their spot in the knockout stages with a win over Croatia today at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium.
This will be the fifth meeting between South American Giants Argentina and European underdogs Croatia. Argentina have a better record against Croatia as they have won on two occasions, drawing once. They have met only once at the World Cup, with Argentina winning it 1-0 in 1998 as a courtesy of Mauricio Pineda’s strike.
Argentina finds itself needing a win after conceding a draw to Iceland in its first match. Croatia looked solid as it took care of Africa Giants Nigeria, 2-0. Both teams feel very comfortable playing with possession of the ball, which means counterattacks and set pieces will matter in this battle.
