The night’s Champions League encounter between Liverpool and Paris Saint Germain is a seemingly mouth watering encounter with the odds in the favour of the French giants as they host the Merseyside Reds at the Parc de Princes. Dutch defender Virgil Van Djik however feels that his side have nothing to be afraid of in France, knowing that a victory would book their tickets to the round of 16.
The Reds ran out 3-2 winners the last time the teams squared off at Anfield and are riding a tremendous wave of confidence owing to their scintillating form in this season’s English Premier League.
However, PSG has gone unbeaten in their last 14 league games and will have two of their best players, Neymar and Mbappe, back for the match. Liverpool’s Van Djik will have a difficult task of keeping the Brazilian and the Frenchman at bay as Salah, Mane and Firmino will look to break the Paris defence.
The Dutchman remains confident that the Reds can pull off a victory in Paris despite the odds slightly tilted towards the home side in what promises to be one of the best games in this year’s competition.
A win will mean qualification to the Champions League round of 16. A defeat however will put Jurgen Klopp’s men in peril as their final game against Italian heavyweights Napoli will be a must win.
