ISSF HAS STARTED A HASHTAG MOVEMENT TO RECOVER THEIR PAGE

ISSF, disgruntled by the sudden decision, has started a hashtag movement to reach Facebook authority’s ears, so that they can get back their page on the social media platform. Unblock_issf_facebook is the hashtag its followers can use to help reach their plea to Facebook.

Facebook, one of the most widely used Social Media platform, is used by ISSF, like any other sports federation, to make statements and spread other important news including schedules and results, to fans of sports shooting all around the world. From January 14, 2010, when the world sports shooting body created their page on the platform, they have been using Facebook regularly to reach their followers from different nations.

FACEBOOK HAS TAKEN DOWN THE PAGE WITHOUT ANY REASON OR WARNING

According to the body, Facebook has taken down their page without any warning or prior information. The reason behind the involuntary withdrawal has not been known. However, it may be related to Facebook’s stringent rules and regulations concerning the use of firearms, both mentions and audiovisual imagery, in their platform. In that case, the frequent mention and imagery of firearms in ISSF’s site may have been the reason behind the decision.

“Dear friends! An unpleasant situation happened yesterday, and Facebook was deleted the ISSF page from the social network without reason or warning,” ISSF noted in a statement.

THE BODY IS LOOKING INTO THE MATTER

The body mentioned that they were currently looking into the matter, whilst giving the sports shooting enthusiasts a list of alternative options for their updates, including Twitter, Instagram and their official website.

“At the moment, we are looking into what happened and stay with you on the official website, Instagram and Twitter,” the statement continued.

The statement continued with a plea for support from the followers, with a request to use the hashtag Unblock_ISSF_Facebook on social media platforms to help recover the page.

“We kindly ask you to support us and show the same activity, which you showed in the mask contest. Please use the hashtag #unblock_ISSF_facebook for our support,” the statement concluded.
