Australia’s David Warner and Steve Smith made their way back into the side for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 after serving their bans for ball tampering during their test series against South Africa. The Barmy Army took to social media to post a photoshopped image of David Warner’s official World Cup portrait as they edited Australia and replaced it with “cheats”. Furthermore, they also replaced the ball in Mitchell Starc and Nathon Lyon’s picture with sandpaper.
Australian coach Justin Langer on the Barry Army’s dig stated “If we’re under siege the second we get off the plane, we’re ready for it. The World Cup might be a bit different to start off, but certainly, once the Ashes kicks off there will be plenty of commentary.”
