Speeding on field? Gain praise from media and fans. Speeding off field in a car? Kylian Hazard, younger brother of superstar Eden Hazard, was arrested after over speeding on a highway in his home country Belgium last week.
The 24 year old, currently playing in Belgian First Division A side Cercle Brugge, was driving down the European route E 403 towards the Belgian city Tournai. Near Roeselare, Kylian’s car was flashed doing 240 km/h in a traffic enforcement camera, way over the 70 km/h speed limit in the Flemish region.
The police stopped the car and arrested the player around 6 in the evening, and his driving license has been suspended for 15 days.
Following the incident, Kylian uploaded a video on Instagram with the caption ‘The road belongs to everyone, all concerned. Be safe’ as an apology to his fans. Watch it below-
“Last week, I made an almost irreparable mistake. I put my life in danger and I almost put in danger that of the people around me, so I would like to apologise to the people who follow me,” the attacking midfielder said in the video.
Kylian joined Chelsea from Hungarian club Újpest in 2017 as a member of the Blues’ development squad. Last year he was sent out on a loan spell to Cercle, and has made his move permanent this summer.
