Dwayne Bravo reveals which Indian player is the ‘biggest superstar in cricket’

All cricket fans have their own opinions on which icon of the sport is the greatest of all time, and the fan following even ranges into cricketers themselves. Dwayne Bravo, the West Indies all rounder and a superstar himself, also reveres someone as the ‘biggest superstar in cricket’, and the name may not surprise you, its none other than Mahendra Singh Dhoni!

In addition to experiencing Dhoni’s stardom in the fixtures against India, Dwayne Bravo has shared the Chennai Super Kings dressing room with the franchise skipper since 2011. hailing the veteran wicket keeper batsman as ‘one of the easiest people to interact with’, Bravo named the ‘Captain Cool’ as the biggest superstar of the gentleman’s game.

While having a conversation with former Zimbabwean pace bowler Pommie Mbangwa in a live session on Instagram, Bravo shared his experience in the cash rich league, his time under Mahi’s captaincy, and shed admiration on him.

“MS Dhoni is the biggest superstar in cricket and in our team (CSK),” Bravo said in the live session, in addition to wording on Dhoni’s humble nature towards his teammates, and also his hobby of video gaming outside cricket.

“He was one of the easiest people to interact with, outside of the cricket field, he is like playing video games, his door is open at all times, whenever you talk about the biggest superstar and then you think a person like Dhoni is the most humble of them all,” he added.

The 36 year old Trinidadian also credited Dhoni as the man behind the three time IPL champions’s success, in addition to honouring the contribution of CSK coach Stephen Fleming.

Bravo went on: “I think a lot of credit for CSK’s success has to be given to Dhoni and Fleming, obviously the owners, they trust both Fleming and Dhoni, so there is no outside interference when it comes to decision making, both are very big students of the game, players love MS and it’s an environment and franchise that allows you to be you.” 

Bravo was picked by Chennai in the 2011 IPL auctions, following a three season stint with Mumbai Indians since the first IPL in 2008.
