Indian sprinting ace Dutee Chand has been slapped with a provisional suspension after she failed a dope test, with traces of prohibited substances found in her sample.

As per PTI, Dutee’s sample report shows presence of SARMS (Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators), a supplement that helps increase muscle mass, along with burning fat and improving stamina.

Traces of ‘andarine’, ‘ostarine’ and ‘ligandrol’, which fall under the SARMS category and are banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) rules was found in the ‘A’ urine sample of the two time Asian Games silver medallist.

“I do hereby inform you that your sample A was tested at the NDTL (National Dope Testing Laboratory) in accordance with the procedure set out in WADA’s (World Anti-Doping Agency) International Standard of Laboratories and was returned adverse analytical findings,” read a letter to Dutee from the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA).

However, when reached out by PTI about the test results, Dutee stated that she did not know anything about her ‘A’ sample returning positive results.
