Agarwal’s hunger for scoring runs is very well known, in fact, it was skipper Virat Kohli who egged on the 28-year-old to go for a triple ton while celebrating his double century landmark.

The batsman from Karnataka, however, could not convert his highest test score into a historic triple century after being caught in the deep in pursuit of his 9th six of the innings.

Speaking after the end of the day’s play, Agarwal claimed that dropping the fear of failure has been instrumental in the success he has achieved so far. He stated:

“I changed my mindset in 2016. Dropped my fear of failure. After that, I only got hungry and hungry. There have been times when I’ve not got runs, so when the going is good, just thinking of making it big. Really enjoyed the time since I made the Test team,”
